Hello! ⊹₊⟡⋆

I’m Joshua, I'm a tattoo artist in Portland, OR with a history in graphic design. A few years ago I found Riso (huge fan) and started using it to display my tattoo flash. I think it’s a great way to make inky, vibrant and accessible art prints—welcome to my shop and thanks for looking.

A lot of my inspiration comes from ancient art history, medievalism, being gay and D&D. New work, tattoos and updates can be seen here:

What’s Riso?

Riso/Risograph is like screen printing using a retro printer-duplicator machine that looks like a big 90’s photocopier. The Risograph machine feeds paper flat through itself, where an ink drum spins and forces ink through a stencil onto the paper. Each color requires a separate stencil—which creates rich juicy colors, playful transparency, and neat variations between each print.

Process

Each of these prints are designed and hand drawn myself, usually inspired by historical references or following an inspired theme. I use Procreate to separate colors into layers that are then given to the Risograph machine, and I print with the wonderful folks at Outlet PDX.
